The mission

A Buddy should with caring, openness, and commitment:

• Be helpful and treat the new students in a respectful manner
• Participate in the reception of new students during the introduction and wear the Buddy shirt
• Guide the new students into student life
• Convey the importance of personal responsibility and time management in relation to university studies
• Explain and establish student culture and traditions
• Act as role models, taking responsibility for their actions and protecting the well-being of self and others
• Convey a positive image of the University, the Student Union, and Skövde municipality
• Attend activities organized by the University and the Student Union
• Follow the decisions made by the University introduction group
• Inform the new students about the Drug & Alchohol policy as it applies to the University, the Student Union, and Kårhuset Boulogner
• Be sober and polite while wearing sponsor shirt, as this is a clear symbol of the Buddy program
• Respond to evaluations that the introductions group sends out

Requirements for being a Buddy

To be a Buddy, one must:

• Be registered as a student at the university and have experience with studies here
• Have completed Buddy training during the current year
• Accept and follow the Buddy Instructions, University Guidelines for Introduction, University Drug & Alcohol policy, and the Student Union’s Drug Policy Program
• Respect and follow the rules at the University, within the Student Union, and at Kårhuset Boulogner

Participation in the Buddy Training constitutes an agreement to act in accordance with the above guidelines.
