From 1 January 2024, there will be a parking fee in all the University's car parks. All car parks will also initially be available to both students and employees.
Managing a parking lot entails a lot of overheads for the property owner. The overheads and maintenance needs of the car park also increase over time. Akademiska Hus and Kalkstenen, which own the buildings the University of Skövde operates in, are introducing parking fees in all parking lots from 1 January 2024.
Same system for everyone
The car parks will, at least initially, no longer be specific to employees or students. Instead, it will be possible to park in all the University's car parks, regardless of whether you are a student or employee. This is also introduced at Science Park Skövde, where the same rules and system apply throughout the area.
Pay in app
Payment will be via an app and the fee will be handled by an external company. The parking lots will not be available to the public.
The property owners will invest in the development of the parking area going forward.
Preliminary fees
The fees have not yet been determined, but a first proposal is as follows:
Hourly parking
Weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The first two hours are free, then SEK 12 per hour
All other times: SEK 5 per hour
24 hour parking
Per day/24 hours: SEK 70
Monthly parking
Per month: SEK 300
