New green meeting place on campus
The University of Skövde and Akademiska hus invite you to the opening of a new meeting place outside Hus A on campus. Students have requested improvements to the outdoor environment and during the reconstruction, the ambition has been to create an inviting outdoor environment for both students and staff. Come to the opening on Thursday 27 April, at 11:00-13:00.
When the University conducted the major student survey “Student Barometer”, many students raised the need for more seating and gathering places outdoors. They also expressed a desire for the outdoor environment to be more inviting and to have more places for recovery on the campus area.
Together with Akademiska hus, the University has taken note of these wishes and the rebuilt area now offers space for both activity and rest with several tables, benches and even armchairs. There is also a pergola with lighting, hammocks and plants.
On April 27th there will be an opening with ribbon cutting, activities and the opportunity to explore the new environment. The first visitors are also offered a light lunch.
– It feels extremely good. The area around A-house has not been particularly inviting before. Now the entire campus area is tied together in a better way and we have created an attractive meeting area outdoors at the northern end of the campus area, says Magnus Littmarck, property controller at the University of Skövde.
