New Exhibition: Brutiful and the FED Framework

Communications Officer Cecilia Fransson and Addi Ait-Mlouk, programme coordinator at the Data Science master's program, are exhibiting at the University Library.

Cecilia Fransson is a research and collaboration communicator at the University of Skövde. In the exhibition "The Beautiful Meets the Brutal," she showcases her acrylic and watercolor paintings.

Brutiful

The keyword for the paintings is the word "Brutiful".

– In my paintings, I often work with the human form in focus in its context in the world; a world that can be both brutal and beautiful at the same time. I am drawn to these contrasts that together form an exciting composition, and I often work based on a feeling connected to the image, says Cecilia.

She further explains:

– I am interested in the interaction and tension between abstract painting and figurative forms. In my painting, I explore materials and forms in a limited color palette where one often wants to read a story into the image.

She has had two major exhibitions at Rosa Huset's Summer Gallery in Skövde in 2020 and 2021 and participates annually in Rosa Huset's Summer and Winter Salons. You can find her art on Cecilia's Instagram @frufras.

FED - a new framework

Addi Ait-Mlouk, associate professor in AI and information technology at the University of Skövde, presents a poster about his research on FED, a framework (source code) that he developed together with some other researchers.

– We developed FEDn, a production-grade framework designed for easy scalability and deployment, serving both industrial applications and research exploration, he explains.
