Are you ready to make a difference? From October 14 to 18, the University of Skövde and other universities within INGENIUM will focus on one of the most pressing topics of our time: sustainability.
“During Sustainability Week, we aim to increase both our students' and staff awareness and engagement in sustainable development,” says Christine Mulder, Project Leader within INGENIUM.

For the first time, Sustainability Week will be held across universities within the INGENIUM European University. The idea originates from the working package focusing on Sustainable Development within INGENIUM, led by the University of Skövde. Through inspiring lectures, engaging workshops, and open discussions, sustainability will be explored from social, economic, and ecological perspectives across INGENIUM’s ten universities.
“We offer a combination of education and inspiration to further encourage both students and staff to understand the benefits of sustainable and regenerative practices. We also want to inspire action,” says Christine Mulder, Innovation Advisor at the University of Skövde and Project Leader for the extensive sustainability work within INGENIUM.
What’s happening during the week?
With the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals as a foundation, Sustainability Week creates a platform for both dialogue and collaboration. The University of Skövde offers a diverse program of activities throughout the week, including the lecture: Sustainability, Future Generations, and Intergenerational Advocacy: Turning advocacy into actions, and a morning coffee session in the entrance of Building G, promising new insights and competitions. The program also includes an interactive workshop on how culture influences our understanding of each other in a globalised world. Additionally, the Student Health Service will host a webinar on achieving balance between studies and life, and an Energy Advisor from Skövde Municipality will share insights on how to create smarter, more sustainable homes.
Come and share your ideas!
Do you have ideas on how campus can become more sustainable? Or what would you like to see at the University related to sustainability? Throughout the week, there will be several opportunities to share your ideas and, of course, gain new insights. Everyone – both students and staff – is welcome to get involved and contribute to a more sustainable future.
