When the University of Skövde updated its firewall the other day, an error was discovered in the printing system. The error meant that documents scanned using the University’s printers were temporarily stored insecurely. Despite the error, there is currently no indication that unauthorised individuals have gained access to the documents or other information.

The error has now been rectified, and all documents and personal data have been removed from the insecure storage location. The University has also reported the incident to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) as a potential personal data breach.

Students who scanned documents using the printers while the error was present have received specific information by email.
