Student Health Service

Visit the Student Health Service
- Several counsellors work at the Student Health Service.
- We are bound by confidentiality, and it is free of charge to visit us.
- Appointments are booked via studenthalsan@his.se and take place on campus at the University, via Zoom, or by telephone.
- You are welcome to contact us whether you study on campus or at a distance.
We offer support in various forms
-
Examples of the support you can receive from the Student Health Service:
- Stress management, for example if you feel that you cannot keep up with your studies or that you postpone things too much (procrastination).
- Worry and anxiety that arise from or affect your ability to study.
- Relationships.
- Disciplinary matters can be stressful and lead to ill health. If, as a student, you have a case with the Disciplinary Board, you can receive support concerning your wellbeing.
Based on your needs
The Student Health Service can offer individual counselling. You have access to five sessions, and if necessary more sessions can be offered.
In addition to physical visits, there is the possibility of having meetings digitally via Zoom.
If we at the Student Health Service are unable to help you, we will make sure to guide you further.
-
Examples of matters the Student Health Service cannot help you with:
- Assessments, for example for disabilities or various illnesses.
- Prescriptions for medication.
- Support in cases of documented illnesses.
- Support in cases of minor illnesses, such as colds and influenza.
Healthcare advice
-
Healthcare advice online
On the website 1177 Vårdguiden you can find advice on health, medical care and dental care. You will find contact details for health centres, child healthcare, women’s healthcare, youth clinics, dental clinics and specialist clinics at hospitals. You can contact healthcare services via the e-services in Mina vårdkontakter or by calling 1177.
Contact the health centre
Contact the health centre to book an appointment, renew prescriptions, or if you have questions about ongoing treatment. The health centre deals with all conditions that do not require specialist hospital care or emergency care at an accident and emergency department.
Healthcare advice by phone
If you need to speak to a nurse, call 1177 for healthcare advice, available around the clock. Experienced nurses provide medical advice and direct you to the appropriate healthcare service.
Seriously ill or severely injured
Call the emergency number 112 if someone is seriously ill or severely injured and needs immediate help.
