The University of Skövde has concluded the crisis management work prompted by the security incident involving the Canvas learning platform.
The provider of Canvas has implemented several measures to reduce the risk of similar incidents affecting users.
The University of Skövde has also carried out a number of measures to strengthen the protection of its part of the learning platform. A notification has also been submitted to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
Back to a more normal situation
The University was prepared to shut down Canvas but chose to keep the learning platform operational throughout the security incident, albeit with limited functionality during certain periods.
– We will continue to monitor security in Canvas closely as we now transition to a more normal situation. We will also evaluate the crisis management work required by the incident. It is important that we learn from this type of event, says David Olsson, Director of the Office for Service, IT and Security at the University of Skövde.
Remain vigilant
