On March 28 The University of Skövde will go back to teaching on campus. The Swedish Government´s has removed the Covid-19 restrictions and the University has had a gradual return to more teaching on campus since February.
There are no longer any restrictions concerning Covid-19 in Sweden. The University of Skövde has some courses that always has been distance based, otherwise education is given on site at the University.
Once you as a student have registered, you will see in your schedule which parts of your course are given on campus or with digital support/Canvas. (The parts provided with digital support are marked with Canvas in your schedule at TimeEdit).
Contact your Course Coordinator if you are unsure about what applies to your course.
If you need to take an exam digitally, the information will be available both in Canvas and on your schedule.
Check your schedule often and log in regularly on Canvas to read updated information about your course.
Instructions for completing the exam will be given to the students concerned. One you have registered for the exam, you will also receive information in your student email.
Yes, if the exam is in your schedule. Sign up as usual in the Student Portal. Remember that you must register at least ten days before the exam.
If you have been granted extended time for the exam, you will receive the same support even now when the examination is done as a home exam, if the home exam is given with the same time frame as the originally planned exam.
If you have other support, contact tentamen@his.se for an individual assessment. You may have the opportunity to take your exam in a room at the University.
You need to communicate your requirement to the teacher/course coordinator for the course and also show your decision for support to the teacher. Your decision for support can be downloaded here nais.uhr.se

TorTalk can be downloaded to windows computers and Macs, but not to Chromebook.

You need a computer with internet connection. Most of the teaching will use Canvas and Zoom as platforms.
To participate in Zoom meetings that others have invited you with a link, you do not need to be logged in to Zoom but can attend as a guest.
Browsers like Google Chrome, Edge or Firefox work best.
For Zoom meetings, it is good to have a microphone and camera. It is good enough with a built-in camera, for example, a laptop supplemented with a headset from your phone, etc. Note: that for Zoom there is an app for smartphones, which has camera and headset connection. You can thus connect to the Zoom meeting with your phone while using your computer for notes etc. However, interactivity in Zoom such as chat and screen sharing is much easier to use in computer than in the mobile app.

You will receive information via Canvas and from your teacher/course coordinator.
If, for various reasons, you are unable to attend an examination on campus, you will be referred to the next examination opportunity. Contact your Course Coordinator if you have any questions.
For example, will all the materials be available as PDF for reader application/reading programs? All the text you get on your computer screen can be read using the speech synthesizer TorTalk. TorTalk can be downloaded to Windows computers and Macs, but not to Chromebook.
Contact your teacher/Course Coordinator or study- and career counsellor to discuss a possible individual solution. If an adaptation is not possible, you can apply for a study break with a place guarantee.
Primarily, wait for the information via Canvas from the teacher/Course Coordinator.
If all your courses are distance based, you will continue your studies as planned. If parts of your education, including examinations, are given either on campus or at learning center, these parts will be adapted to distance studies. Information is provided via the Canvas learning platform.

If you have to interrupt your studies and go home, you need in good time:
Contact the respective Course Coordinator for assessment if you can complete your studies at a distance.
Contact the property owner and bostadsformedling@his.se to cancel your student housing. Please keep in mind that any rental costs will unfortunately not be reimbursed by the University. We recommend you to get in touch with your insurance company.
Contact the International Office, international@his.se at the University if you are planning to return home.
Contact your University at home and announce that you are returning.
Contact studentservice@his.se to get signatures on certificates, graduation forms or similar.
Please note that it is very important that you do not travel home without notifying us.
The computer labs on campus are not completely replicated to be available from a remote connection. As a student though, you have the possibility to access your home folder and some University software by installing VMware Horizon Client. If you normally use the following computer labs you will find the same software in Horizon Client: A403, A404, A405, A406, E102, E104, G103, G219, G220. Note that the number of simultaneous users is limited to 160, so there can be capacity issues if a lot of users try to connect at the same time. Some software also have a limited number of available licenses.
